I’ve never heard of occupational therapy, what is it?

The American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. states that occupational therapy help people across their lifespan to participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities, ‘occupations’. Occupational therapists empower people of all ages to live life to its fullest and promote holistic health, wellness, and independence. Specifically, pediatric occupational therapy facilitates skill development to improve children’s ‘occupations’ such as handwriting, making friends, playground activities, school success, and sensory integration. OTs use their specialized and evidence-based training, creativity, and patience to help your child and family achieve goals that are most important to you!
